The 19th century artpiece was made by George Caleb Bingham in 1852. The beyond 160 year old original measures the size of 38 x 52 in (96,5 x 132,1 cm) framed: 49 1/4 x 63 3/16 in (125,1 x 160,5 cm). Oil on canvas was used by the North American artist as the technique for the painting. Nowadays, the piece of art belongs to the Saint Louis Art Museum's digital art collection, which is a world renowned fine arts museum known for its outstanding and comprehensive collection spanning 5000 years of cultures and genres. The politician, painter, university teacher George Caleb Bingham was a North American artist from United States, whose artistic style can be attributed primarily to Romanticism. The Romanticist painter lived for 68 years, born in 1811 in Augusta county, Virginia, United States, county and passed away in the year 1879.
