In the foreground, face elephant bronze Emmanuel Frémiet installed in the Trocadero gardens created for the Universal Exhibition in 1878. In the background, on the other side of the bridge of Jena, the Eiffel Tower built for '1889 universal Exhibition stands against a cloudy sky.

The sculpture of Frémiet is now installed on the forecourt of the Musée d'Orsay.
