The face of Saint Nicolas occupies all the icon. You can see the top of his episcopal attire consists of a phelonion and a omophorion. He has a high forehead and graying hair, slightly balding on the skull. His beard is rounded. Its quite close eyes flanking a long nose and thin, below which we see a narrow mouth and fleshy.
