The face of Saint Nicolas occupies all the icon. You can see the top of his episcopal attire consists of a phelonion and a omophorion. He has a high forehead and graying hair, slightly balding on the skull. His beard is rounded. Its quite close eyes flanking a long nose and thin, below which we see a narrow mouth and fleshy. His eyebrows are particularly arched. The figure stands on a white background, which was originally colored.
The composition of this icon, the refinement of his paintings and golden tones are observed on similar icons, painted in Moscow in the sixteenth century.
