The contemporary art artwork Study of a Rock was painted by Asher Brown Durand. The original creation measures the following dimensions - 16 3/4 x 22 1/16 in (42,5 x 56 cm). Oil on canvas was used by the American artist as the technique for the artwork. The artpiece is included in the Yale University Art Gallery's collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere. Besides, the alignment is landscape with a side ratio of 4 : 3, which means that the length is 33% longer than the width. The engraver, painter Asher Brown Durand was an artist, whose artistic style was primarily Romanticism. The North American painter lived for 90 years and was born in 1796 in Jefferson, Monmouth county, New Jersey, United States and deceased in the year 1886.
