On this tondo are two of the four cardinal virtues: Prudence, holding a mirror and a snake wrapping around his left arm, and Temperance, pouring water from a pitcher into a cup. This work is painted with gold highlights black shades to mimic trompe l'oeil bronze sculptures. The shape of this table suggests that this or a top-to-door or element ceiling decoration of ceremonial lounge of the part of the Donon hotel built in the seventeenth century.

The Cognac-Jay Museum panel evokes the style of the entourage of Nicolas Loir (confirmed by Alain Mérot, oral communication).
