In 1643 François Ryckhals made the classic art masterpiece Boy Sleeping in a Barn. The artwork was made with the size: height: 36,4 cm width: 32,5 cm | height: 14,3 in width: 12,8 in and was painted with the medium oil on panel. The original artpiece has the following inscription: signed: FSRHALS. The artwork forms part of the digital art collection of Mauritshuis, which the Mauritshuis is home to the best artworks of Dutch painting of the seventeenth century. Furthermore, alignment of the digital reproduction is portrait and has a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. The painter François Ryckhals was an artist, whose style can mainly be classified as Baroque. The painter was born in the year 1609 and died at the age of 38 in the year 1647.
