Artwork description from the museum (© Copyright - by Belvedere - Belvedere)
Hörmann combined in his works both characteristics of realism and impressionistic style of painting - this smaller version of the Esparsettenfeldes comes impressionistic pictures next. Otherwise used as the circle around Schindler Hörmann early a bright color palette with z. T. bright colors. The picture was taken shortly after Hörmanns Paris stay - possibly the narrow horizontal of Daubigny is affected. However, the impasto brushwork reminiscent of van Gogh. In the smaller version Hormann overcame any Kleinteiligkeit colored surfaces, which is conferred by different directions dynamics. The brush strokes follow the differently oriented surfaces, so that a color braid in impressionistic sense emerged. [Dietrun Otten, 2/2002]
