The over 160 year old piece of art Portrait of a Woman was painted by Jean Léon Gérôme in 1851. The original was made with the size: 92,6 × 73,7 cm (36 1/2 × 29 in). Oil on canvas was used by the French painter as the technique for the piece of art. The painting has the following text as inscrption: inscribed at right: J. L. Gerome 1851. Today, the piece of art belongs to the Art Institute Chicago's digital art collection located in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America.
