On the Grand Canal, a boat with two masts called "Trabaccolo" advances towards the St. Mark's basin. The rear sail yellow cloth is adorned with a red sun. The ship is followed by gondolas. In the background, stand the monuments of the city: to the left, the bell tower of the Church of St. Mark, and right, the bell tower of the church of San Gregorio. The low horizon reveals a blue sky beautiful weather.
Felix Ziem discovered Venice in 1842 and it will carry twenty stays that will inspire her many works.
