The scene is located inside the Temple of Jerusalem. The Virgin occupies the center of the composition: it has, respectfully open hands framed her coat, her child dressed in white. Behind her, Joseph carries two doves in a cage. The Simeon receives Jesus in her arms, with respect evidenced his hands covered. It is before the altar. Behind Simeon, one sees the prophetess Anne profile.
