In the center of the composition, Christ stands on a pedestal in the middle of the Jordan with stylized waves. He blesses with both hands. John has long curly hair. He is wearing a green mélote, an ocher himation and light sandals. At his feet, we guess the extremity of a bush near which was to be represented an ax. This detail refers to John the Baptist's words reported in the Gospels of Matthew and Luc.A right of the composition, on the other bank of the Jordan, four angels respectfully bow before christ, hands open. Three of them are watching Jesus, the fourth looks up at the heavens. Two angels are dressed in red himations two other himations verts.Les haloes of all the characters represented are decorated with floral motifs slightly raised.
