Available material options
For every art print we offer a range of different sizes and materials. You can choose your your favorite size and material among the following options:
- Poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a UV printed canvas with a nice finish on the surface. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the painting, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond: These are metal prints on aluminium dibond material with an outstanding depth effect - for a modern impression and non-reflective surface structure. The bright and white sections of the artwork shine with a silky gloss but without the glow.
- Canvas: A canvas print is a printed canvas stretched on a wood frame. Your canvas print of your favorite artpiece will let you turn your art print into a large artwork as you know from galleries. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy and straightforward to hang up the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for any type of wall.
- Print on acrylic glass: The print on acrylic glass, which is often referenced as a an art print on plexiglass, will transform your chosen original into magnificient décor. Your favorite work of art will be printed with the help of state-of-the-art UV direct printing machines. The special effect of this are intense, sharp colors.
Legal note: We try all that we can to depict the products in as much detail as possible and to illustrate them visually on the various product detail pages. Still, the colors of the print products and the imprint might vary slightly from the image on the screen. Depending on the screen settings and the nature of the surface, color pigments might not be printed as exactly as the digital version. Considering that our art reproductions are processed and printed by hand, there may also be slight differences in the motif's exact position and the size.
Description from the museum (© Copyright - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)
Philadelphia-born Thomas Willing (1731–1821) partnered with British-born Robert Morris (1734–1806) to establish the mercantile firm Willing, Morris and Company in 1757. It became one of the most successful in Philadelphia, exporting flour, tobacco, and lumber to Europe, as well as importing sugar, rum, molasses, and—most abhorrently—enslaved laborers from the West Indies and Africa. Here, Peale depicted the merchant framed by a view of the Atlantic Ocean, the source of his wealth and status. Willing holds an emblem of his transatlantic trade and patriotism. Made of imported silver and tortoiseshell, the box—featuring a profile of his close friend George Washington— held snuff, a finely powdered tobacco that was one of Willing’s profitable exports.
