Portrait of a Man was by the baroque Dutch artist Bartholomeus van der Helst in 1660. The original has the following size: height: 77,2 cm width: 62,5 cm | height: 30,4 in width: 24,6 in. Oil on panel was used by the painter as the technique for the artwork. The masterpiece has the following inscription: signed and dated: B. vander / helst. 1660. Furthermore, this artpiece belongs to the Mauritshuis's collection. The masterpiece, which is part of the public domain is being included with courtesy of Mauritshuis, The Hague. Creditline of the artwork: Anonymous gift, 1893. The alignment is in portrait format and has a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, which implies that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Bartholomeus van der Helst was a male painter of Dutch nationality, whose art style was mainly Baroque. The painter lived for 58 years and was born in 1612 in Haarlem, North Holland, Netherlands and deceased in 1670.
