Painted on both sides
On the front, two nude female figures, one back and one profile, holding fabric hand are separated by trees. At the foot of the central shaft, an echo is red rose with two flowering shrubs to the right of the composition. A pond succeed in the background of large trees suggest a horizon whose warm tones match those of the leading reasons. This face is painted in a synthetic style: solid colors, stylized back lignes.Le has two divisive studies with bright colors: on the left and in horizontal format and the countryside; the rest of the canvas and vertically, two portraits of women in the city of dress and hat. Trees suggest an outdoor scene.
On entering the museum collections, this work was covered on the back of a canvas lining. On the advice of Dina Vierny, specialist work of Maillol, dubbing was removed. We then discovered the two divisive studies that could be slightly earlier in the composition "Two nudes in a landscape."
