The bank Loing is bordered by a row of poplars, behind which we can see some houses. Walkers on the shore watching the boats. A gray smoke from the chimney of tug maneuver on the river. The bottom placed skyline leaves room in heaven treated with a variety of keys and tones, like the rest of the autumn landscape.
In 1880 Sisley settled near the forest of Fontainebleau, about two hours from Paris. Who used to work near where they live, so he painted many views of Saint-Mammès, a small town at the confluence of the Seine and Loing.
