High Tide on the Marshes is an artwork painted by the male American painter Martin Johnson Heade. The over 140 years old original measures the size: Unframed: 38,3 x 76,3 cm (15 1/16 x 30 1/16 in) and was painted with the medium oil on canvas. The original artwork is inscribed with the following information: "signed lower center: M.J. Heade - 72.". Today, the artpiece can be viewed in in the digital collection of The Cleveland Museum of Art. With courtesy of - The Cleveland Museum of Art (licensed - public domain). Furthermore, the work of art has the following creditline: Hinman B. Hurlbut Collection. Moreover, alignment of the digital reproduction is in landscape format with a ratio of 2 : 1, which means that the length is two times longer than the width. The painter, traveller Martin Johnson Heade was a North American artist from United States, whose artistic style can be attributed primarily to Realism. The painter was born in 1819 in Lumberville, Bucks county, Pennsylvania, United States and died at the age of 85 in 1904.
