Trade cards from the "Game Birds" series (N40), issued in 1888-90 in a set of 50 cards to promote Allen & Ginter brand cigarettes. Series N40 reproduces the cards from N13 in a larger size.
This more than 130 year-old painting Canvas-Back Duck, from the Game Birds series (N40) for Allen & Ginter Cigarettes was made by the American artist Allen & Ginter in 1888. The original version of the painting has the size: Sheet: 2 7/8 x 3 1/4 in (7,3 x 8,3 cm). Commercial color lithograph was applied by the American artist as the technique for the artwork. This artwork is included in the The Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection, which is one of the world's largest and finest art museums, which includes more than two million works of art spanning five thousand years of world culture, from prehistory to the present and from every part of the globe..
