General description from the museum (© Copyright - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)
This portrait is a pendant to the Portrait of a Man (29.100.3). If the man is Cornelis van Beresteyn, then the woman must be his second wife, Corvina van Hofdyck (1602–1667). Her pose, including the precise positions of the hands (one holding an ostrich fan), repeats that of her mother-in-law as depicted by Jacob Willemsz. Delff in 1592. Rembrandt's pair portraits appear to have conformed in design to a dynastic ensemble of portraits that originally hung in the Van Beresteyn family home in Delft.

Additionally, a canvas creates a cosy and positive ambience. A printed canvas of this masterpiece will allow you to transform your individual art print into a large work of art. A canvas print has the advantage of being relatively low in weight, meaning that it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without the use of extra wall-mounts. Hence, canvas prints are suited for any type of wall in your house.
- Poster print on canvas material: Our poster print is a UV printed cotton canvas with a nice surface finish, that resembles the actual work of art. It is used for putting the art print with a customized frame.
