Artwork description by The Metropolitan Museum of Art website (© Copyright - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - www.metmuseum.org)
In this double portrait, Cadwallader Colden, who was a physician, botanist, and physicist, is shown with his arm around his grandson. Colden held strong views on the education of his grandchildren and he often tutored Warren. For the realistic facial expressions, the successful ease of the poses, and the rich color, Pratt was indebted to the art of Copley, who visited New York in 1771. Pratt also painted a standing full-length portrait of Colden, which can be seen at the New-York Historical Society.

- Aluminium dibond (metal print): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with an impressive depth effect. The Aluminium Dibond Print is the ideal introduction to art prints manufactured on aluminum. For our Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the work of art right on the surface of the aluminum material. The bright and white parts of the work of art shine with a silky gloss, however without glow. The colors of the print are luminous and bright, the details are crisp, and the print has a a matte look you can literally feel. The direct UV print on aluminium is one of the most popular entry-level products and is a truly sophisticated way to display artworks, because it puts the viewer’s attention on the whole artwork.
- Poster (canvas material): A poster is a UV printed flat canvas paper with a slight texture on the surface, which reminds the original masterpiece. It is perfectly suited for placing the fine art print using a customized frame. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6 cm round about the work of art in order to facilitate the framing.
- The canvas print: The canvas direct print is a printed canvas mounted on a wooden frame. Furthermore, a canvas print generates a lively, pleasant ambience. A canvas print has the advantage of being low in weight, which implies that it is easy and straightforward to hang up the Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for all kinds of walls.
- Printed acrylic glass with a glossy effect (with real glass coating): An print on acrylic glass, which is often denoted as a plexiglass print, will transform your favorite original into wonderful décor. What is more, the acrylic glass fine art print offers a viable alternative to dibond and canvas prints.
