Artwork description from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (© Copyright - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)
This painting was included in a collection of Perry’s works and memorabilia in 1944. It resembles other works by him in technique. All the heads in the picture are hidden, including those of the dog on the right side of the porch and the horse on the stud card tacked to the clapboard wall of the building, which is identified as the “National Hotel” in the sign partially visible in the upper left corner. The work’s title comes from the abolitionist newspaper seen to the left of center, which was published with this masthead in Lexington, Kentucky, from 1846 to 1849.

Available materials
We offer a range of various materials and sizes for every product. We allow yout to choose among the following variants:
- Print on glossy acrylic glass: A glossy print on acrylic glass, often referred to as a UV print on plexiglass, changes the original work of art into home decoration. Beyond that, the acrylic glass art print makes a viable alternative option to canvas or dibond art prints. The work of art is made with state-of-the-art UV direct print technology. This creates intense and sharp print colors. The plexiglass protects your selected fine art print against light and heat for several decades.
- Printed poster (canvas material): The poster is a printed canvas paper with a slight finish on the surface. The printed poster is excellently suited for putting your art print with a special frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin 2-6cm round about the work of art in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Aluminium print (aluminium dibond): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond material with an outstanding effect of depth. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your ideal introduction to prints produced with aluminum. The UV print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is a truly modern way to display art reproductions, as it draws focus on the artwork.
- Canvas: A canvas direct print is a printed canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher. A canvas print creates a charming and positive atmosphere. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang up your Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Hence, canvas prints are suitable for all kinds of walls.

Considering that all art prints are printed and processed manually, there may as well be slight differences in the motif's exact position and the size.
