The April 23, 1888 Merson is named "group leader" for the decoration of the staircase of the festivals of the City Hall of Paris. The entirety of the sketches is exposed to circle Volney in 1898. The decor left unfinished the death of the painter in 1920.

The over 130 years old original creation was painted with the following size: Height: 46 cm, Width: 35,7 cm. Oil painting was used by the painter as the technique for the painting.
