Mercury and Argus was created by the male Dutch painter Carel Fabritius in 1647. The original measures the size of 28 15/16 x 40 15/16 in (73,5 x 104 cm) and was painted with the technique oil on canvas. What is more, the artwork belongs to the art collection of Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a collection of more than 142.000 objects that illuminate 6.000 years of artistic expression across the globe. Carel Fabritius was a male painter, whose artistic style was mainly Baroque. The Baroque artist was born in 1622 in Middenbeemster, North Holland, Netherlands and passed away at the age of 32 in the year 1654.
