Early in his career, before he found a real market for his work, Renoir made ends meet by painting portraits for the elite of the Paris art world. This one represents Delphine Legrand, the daughter of the art dealer Alphonse Legrand, who helped mount the second impressionist exhibition in 1876. Delphine's bright blue dress is a good example of the radical brushwork introduced by this group: brushstrokes are lively, moving in different directions, each one visible and unblended. At the same time, Renoir anchors himself in tradition, presenting the girl in a shallow space and pose that clearly recalled 17th-century court portraiture.

Select the product material you would like to have

In the product dropdown lists you can select your favorite material and size. You can choose among the following product customization options:

  • Metal (aluminium dibond print): An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with a true effect of depth. A direct Aluminium Dibond Print is the excellent start to fine art prints with aluminum. Colors are luminous and bright in the highest definition, the details appear clear and crisp, and there’s a matte appearance you can literally feel.
  • The poster print (canvas material): A poster print is a UV printed canvas paper with a slightly rough surface structure. It is suited for framing the fine art print with the help of a custom-made frame. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2 - 6cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): The print on acrylic glass, often referred to as a plexiglass print, will turn the original artwork into beautiful home decoration. Your own replica of the artwork is being manufactured thanks to modern UV printing technology. The major benefit of an acrylic glass fine art copy is that sharp contrasts and painting details become more recognizeable with the help of the very fine tonal gradation of the print. The acrylic glass protects your selected art print against sunlight and external influences for many years.
  • Canvas: A printed canvas, which should not be confused with a painting on a canvas, is a digital replica printed on an industrial printing machine. A canvas print of this artwork will allow you to transform your very own fine art print into a large collection piece. Hanging a canvas print: Canvas Prints have the advantage of being relatively low in weight, meaning that it is easy and straightforward to hang your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for any kind of wall.
