Målningen föreställer ett träd eller en buske framför en åker. Grenverket breder ut sig över nästan hela bildens yta. Närmast den rundade horisonten glöder himlen i gula och röda färger för att sedan bli ljust blå och gradvis mörkare. Diagonalt över himlen sträcker sig något som verkar vara antingen ett moln eller ett fågelsträck.
