The creditline of the artwork is the following: purchase from Modern Gallery Heinrich Thannhauser, Munich. - 1955 handover to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. - 1987 acquisition from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna in 1916. The painter, graphic artist Edvard Munch was a European artist, whose style can mainly be classified as Expressionism.
