At the age of fifteen, Moses Seymour Jr., sat for a portrait that honors both its sitter and implicitly, his father, the former Revolutionary War major from Litchfield, Connecticut, who commissioned this work. Like so many American painters of his generation, Earl studied with Benjamin West in London. Upon his return, he practiced his profession in his native Connecticut River Valley. Seymour's book and cane suggest that the young man reads and walks in harmony among nature's beauties, an activity that recalls the ideals of the ancient Roman poet Horace. In a pose that presses him close to the foreground, however, this cultured figure also conveys a message about man's domination over nature.

In the product dropdown lists you can pick your prefered material and size. You can choose among the following product customization options:
- Canvas: The canvas print is a printed cotton canvas stretched on a wood stretcher. Canvas Prints have the great advantage of being relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without the help of extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for all types of walls.
- Aluminium dibond: These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with a true depth. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your perfect start to art prints produced on aluminum. For your Aluminium Dibond print, we print the artwork onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The bright & white parts of the original artwork shimmer with a silk gloss but without the glow.
- Printed acrylic glass: An print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes denoted as a print on plexiglass, changes your favorite original into beautiful décor. In addition to that, it forms a distinct alternative to dibond or canvas art prints. The major benefit of a plexiglass fine art print is that contrasts and small details become more visible because of the subtle gradation.
- Poster print (canvas material): The poster print is a UV printed flat canvas with a slightly roughened finish on the surface, which resembles the original masterpiece. A print poster is designed for placing the art print using a custom frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin 2-6cm round about the artwork, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
