Creditline of the artwork: Acquired by King William I for the Mauritshuis, 1820. Jan de Baen was a painter from the Netherlands, whose art style was mainly Baroque. The European artist was born in the year 1633 in Haarlem and died at the age of 69 in the year 1702 in The Hague.
