Compared with the often ill-natured-looking drunkards of his teacher Adriaen Brouwer, the country folk in the paintings by Adriaen van Ostade are more mildmannered. They drink and smoke, but the atmosphere is generally peaceful. The pair of skates lying on the ground inspired the painting’s old, anecdotal title.

Selectable materials
For every product we offer a range of different materials & sizes. Therefore, we allow you to choose among the following options:
- Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): A glossy print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes referenced as a fine art print on plexiglass, will turn an original artwork into amazing home decoration. Your own version of the artwork is printed with the help of modern UV print machines. It creates deep and vivid colors. The major advantage of a plexiglass art print is that contrasts and painting details will be more exposed with the help of the subtle tonal gradation of the picture.
- Poster (canvas material): Our poster is a printed sheet of flat canvas with a nice texture on the surface. A poster print is excellently appropriate for placing the art replica with a special frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2-6cm around the artwork to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Metal (aluminium dibond print): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with a true effect of depth - for a modern impression and a non-reflective surface structure. For the Direct Aluminium Dibond print, we print the artpiece right onto the aluminium white-primed surface. The bright & white components of the original artwork shimmer with a silky gloss but without glare.
- Canvas print: A canvas print is a printed canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher. A canvas generates a particular effect of three-dimensionality. Also, a canvas print produces a charming, comfortable ambience. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. That means, it is easy and straightforward to hang your Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suitable for any kind of wall.
