In 1885 Hans Canon painted this 19th century piece of art The victory of light over darkness. The over 130 year-old original creation had the following size 22,6 x 23,4 cm - frame dimensions: 36 x 37 x 5 cm and was painted with the medium oil on canvas on cardboard. Today, this piece of art belongs to the Belvedere's digital collection, which is located in Vienna, Austria. With courtesy of: © Belvedere, Vienna, inventory number: 4101 (license: public domain). The creditline of the artwork is the following: transfer from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. - 1948 inventory in 1921. What is more, the alignment is in square format and has a ratio of 1 : 1, meaning that the length is equal to the width. The artist Hans Canon was an artist, whose art style can primarily be assigned to Historicism. The European artist lived for a total of 56 years - born in 1829 in Vienna and passed away in 1885.
