What does the curator team of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art state about the 19th century artwork from the painter Lilly Martin Spencer? (© Copyright - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - www.metmuseum.org)
The only American woman painter of note in the antebellum period, Spencer specialized in domestic scenes. She used herself and her husband as models in many of her narrative works, including this one. The setting for the family group is likely the artist’s parlor. Many of the small objects decorating her room, such as the Limoges compote and the Carcel lamp, illustrate the taste of the time as well as Spencer’s French heritage.
In 1851 Lilly Martin Spencer made the artwork titled "Conversation Piece". The 160 years old masterpiece was made with the size: 28 5/16 x 22 5/8 in (71,9 x 57,5 cm). Oil on canvas was applied by the American painter as the technique for the piece of art. It forms part of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art's art collection, which is one of the world's largest and finest art museums, which includes more than two million works of art spanning five thousand years of world culture, from prehistory to the present and from every part of the globe.. Which materials can I choose?
The product dropdown menu ofers you the possibility to choose your favorite size and material. You can pick your favorite size and material between the subsequent choices:
- Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): An print on acrylic glass, often referred to as a UV print on plexiglass, will change your favorite original into brilliant décor and offers a distinct alternative to canvas or dibond fine art replicas. Your favorite work of art is manufactured with the help of state-of-the-art UV direct print technology. It creates sharp, vivid print colors. The acrylic glass protects your custom art replica against light and heat for several decades.
- Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an impressive effect of depth - for a modern impression and a non-reflective surface structure. For our Aluminium Dibond print, we print your selected artpiece onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum composite. The bright and white sections of the original work of art shimmer with a silk gloss, however without the glow. The colors of the print are bright and vivid in the highest definition, the fine details are clear and crisp. The print on Aluminum Dibond is the most popular entry-level product and is a modern way to showcase fine art reproductions, as it puts the viewer’s focus on the replica of the artwork.
- Canvas: A printed canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher frame. A canvas creates a sculptural look of three dimensionality. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for all types of walls.
- Poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a printed sheet of flat canvas paper with a slight structure on the surface. The poster print is used for putting the art replica with a personal frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2 - 6cm around the print motif, which facilitates the framing.
