Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, 1760 - Temperance - fine art print

This detached fresco is from a series of four ovals that were designed by Tiepolo and painted by his workshop for the decoration of the corners of the ceiling of a room in the Palazzo Valle-Marchesini-Sala in Vicenza. The attribute of the vase identifies the allegorical figure as representing Temperance.

Temperance was made by the rococo artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. The original was painted with the size - Oval, 55 7/8 x 48 in (141,9 x 121,9 cm). Fresco, transferred to canvas was applied by the artist as the medium of the work of art. Nowadays, the piece of art is included in the The Metropolitan Museum of Art's art collection in New York City, New York, United States of America. The classic art artwork, which belongs to the public domain is being included with courtesy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Bequest of Grace Rainey Rogers, 1943. The creditline of the artpiece is the following: Bequest of Grace Rainey Rogers, 1943. Furthermore, alignment is portrait with a ratio of 3 : 4, meaning that the length is 25% shorter than the width. Giovanni Battista Tiepolo was a male painter, printmaker, whose style was mainly Rococo. The Italian painter lived for a total of 74 years, born in 1696 in Venice, Venezia province, Veneto, Italy and died in the year 1770.
