Rue Lepic and the maquis of Montmartre, 18th arrondissement. Urban landscape. Radet the mill. White House doctor. Observatory Dr. Gruby. Rue Girardon.
On the north side of Montmartre hill stretched a vast wasteland between the streets Caulaincourt Lepic and Girardon called "Maquis"; it was destroyed by the piercing of the Avenue Junot in 1910. It was a tangle of huts and bushes, haunted by scavengers, vagrants, marginal and artists.
