One of twenty-two panels (14.114.1–.22) forming the ceiling from the Palace of Pandolfo Petrucci, called Il Magnifico, Siena. The general distribution and partition of the ceiling appears to derive from that of a vaulted and painted ceiling in Nero's Golden House in Rome. Many of the individual figures also seem to derive from antique works of art– especially sarcophagi.

In the year 1509 the painter Pinturicchio made the early renaissance work of art. The 510 year-old artwork measures the size: Overall: 24 7/8 × 39 3/8 in (63,2 × 100 cm) and was manufactured with the technique fresco, transferred to canvas and attached to wood panels. Today, the artwork is part of the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. With courtesy of - The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Rogers Fund, 1914 (license - public domain). The creditline of the artwork is the following: Rogers Fund, 1914. What is more, the alignment is landscape with an aspect ratio of 3 : 2, which means that the length is 50% longer than the width. Pinturicchio was a painter, whose art style was primarily Early Renaissance. The Early Renaissance artist lived for a total of 59 years and was born in the year 1454 and died in 1513.
