This over 240 year old piece of art Portrait of Captain James Cook was painted by the rococo painter John Webber. The version of the artpiece measures the size image: 695mm (width), 1095mm (height) and was painted with the technique oil on canvas. Nowadays, this artpiece is in the the collection of Museum of New Zealand - Te Papa Tongarewa, which is the national museum of New Zealand, with a great collection of artworks that contain deep ancestral links to the indigenous Māori population of New Zealand. John Webber was a painter, printmaker, whose art style was primarily Rococo. The British painter lived for 42 years - born in 1751 in London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom and died in 1793.
