Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6 cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.

This was Delacroix’s first treatment of a subject drawn from Sir Walter Scott’s popular novels of medieval chivalry. The eponymous hero of Ivanhoe (1819), straining to leave his sickbed, listens to the terrified Rebecca as she describes a battle raging outside the window. Delacroix sought to stimulate the viewer’s imagination by evoking violence through the gestures of the characters reacting to it rather than showing the battle itself. The fastidious execution of Rebecca's extended hand stands in contrast to the jumble of strokes immediately surrounding it and to its left, which suggest the frenzy she witnesses.

Rebecca and the Wounded Ivanhoe is a piece of art by the male French artist Eugène Delacroix in 1823. The original measures the exact size: 25 3/8 × 21 1/8 in (64,5 × 53,7 cm). In addition to that, the alignment is in portrait format and has a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Eugène Delacroix was a male painter of French nationality, whose style was primarily Romanticism. The Romanticist painter lived for 65 years, born in 1798 in Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne and passed away in the year 1863 in Paris.
