The modern art artpiece was painted by the impressionist painter Eugène Boudin. The more than 150 year-old original was made with the absolute size: 12 1/2 x 11 1/2 in (31,8 x 29,2 cm) and was painted with the technique oil on wood. Further, the alignment is portrait and has a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Eugène Boudin was a male painter from France, whose art style can be classified as Impressionism. The Impressionist painter was born in 1824 and passed away at the age of 74 in 1898.

The changing skies of France's Channel coast and the fashionable crowds on the resort beaches were Boudin's lifelong subjects. These pictures were avidly collected, ensuring the artist's success. In 1863 he commented: "They love my little ladies on the beach, and some people say that there's a thread of gold to exploit there."
