Archangel Michael is represented by foot turned slightly to his left. He wears the costume of Byzantine emperors, that is to say a long tunic girded vertically and horizontally and the "loros" kind of scarf covered with precious stones. Above is put the cloak, red coat tied around the chest. His boots are red. He is holding a globe translucent bearing the initials of Jesus and the "haste" long wand assigned to dignitaries of the Byzantine court.

This great icon from a row of iconostasis and more accurately, the row of the Deesis. The archangel turned to an icon of Christ. This icon was probably painted in northern Russia as suggested by the large face of the archangel, his rather stocky body and economy of colors used.
