The artwork was created by the realist master Arnold Böcklin in 1862. The version of the work of art measures the size - 52,5 x 44,5 cm - frame dimensions: 84 x 75 x 9 cm and was produced with the medium oil on canvas. "On the back Title: Study head painted / by Arnold Bocklin / Rome 1862 / Franz Lenbach" is the masterpiece's original inscription. Furthermore, the artpiece is in the the Belvedere's digital collection, which is one of Europe's most famous museums with three locations that blends the experience of architecture and art in a unique way. Furthermore, alignment is portrait with a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, which implies that the length is 20% shorter than the width. The painter Arnold Böcklin was a European artist from Switzerland, whose artistic style can be classified as Realism. The European artist was born in the year 1827 in Basel and deceased at the age of 74 in the year 1901.
