The original measures the size of unframed: 119,4 x 95,3 cm (47 x 37 1/2 in) framed: 137,16 x 116,84 x 10,16 cm (54 x 46 x 4 in). Oil on canvas was used by the French painter as the medium of the masterpiece. What is more, this artpiece can be viewed in in the collection of Yale University Art Gallery. The painter, sculptor, communard Gustave Courbet was a European artist from France, whose artistic style can primarily be classified as Realism. The Realist artist lived for a total of 58 years and was born in the year 1819 in Ornans, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, France and died in the year 1877 in La Tour-de-Peilz, Vaud, Switzerland.
