In 1790 Charles Willson Peale made the 18th century painting "Mrs. James Maccubin Carroll (Sophia Gough) (1772-1816)". The original was painted with the size of 30 x 24 3/4 in (76,2 x 62,9 cm) framed: 37 1/2 x 32 x 2 3/4 in (95,3 x 81,3 x 7 cm). Oil on canvas was used by the American painter as the technique for the work of art. Today, this artpiece is in the the Yale University Art Gallery's digital art collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere.
