Cicero Discovering the Tomb of Archimedes was painted by the male artist Benjamin West in 1804. The original was made with the size: 49 1/2 x 71 3/4 in (125,73 x 182,25 cm). Oil on canvas was applied by the American artist as the medium of the piece of art. Nowadays, the work of art is in the the Yale University Art Gallery's art collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere. The painter Benjamin West was an artist from United States, whose style was primarily Rococo. The American artist was born in 1738 in Swarthmore, Delaware county, Pennsylvania, United States and died at the age of 82 in the year 1820.
