Background information on the more than 200 year-old painting

The over 200 years old artpiece was created by the male artist Gilbert Stuart in 1813. The work of art measures the size: 30 x 25 in (76,2 x 63,5 cm) and was crafted with the medium oil on canvas. Today, the artwork is in the the digital art collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Further, the alignment is portrait and has a ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Gilbert Stuart was a painter, whose artistic style can be classified as Rococo. The North American artist lived for a total of 73 years - born in 1755 in North Kingstown, Washington county, Rhode Island, United States and died in the year 1828.
