At the edge of a lagoon, a classical-style tomb stands on a high base under a roof with four supporting columns, an imaginary arrangement. The artist highlights the tomb, contrasting it with the darker architecture in the right background. The rosy color layered over the sky suggests sunset. A rickety wooden bridge stretches across the center. The figures scattered about are depicted using spots of color, rather than sharp detail.

The classic art masterpiece was created by the baroque artist Canaletto in the year 1740. The beyond 280 years old original was made with the size: 11 7/8 × 15 1/2 in (30,2 × 39,4 cm). Oil on canvas was applied by the European painter as the technique for the artpiece. The painter Canaletto was a European artist, whose artistic style can primarily be classified as Baroque. The artist was born in 1697 and passed away at the age of 71 in the year 1768.
