Major Roger Alden (1754-1836) was by the American artist John Trumbull. The original had the following size: sight in frame: 14 1/2 x 11 3/4in (36,83 x 29,845 cm) and was painted with the technique of oil on canvas, laid down on wood. The piece of art is part of the Yale University Art Gallery's digital collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere. John Trumbull was a male artist, painter, whose style can be attributed mainly to Romanticism. The painter was born in 1756 in Lebanon, New London county, Connecticut, United States and died at the age of 87 in the year 1843 in New York City, New York state, United States.
