What does the curator team of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art say about this work of art from the painter Jean Honoré Fragonard? (© - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

This painting belongs to a celebrated group of Fragonards known as the fantasy figures. The canvas is broadly brushed, with exceptional virtuosity, panache, and a sense of speed. The model has recently been identified as the aristocratic salon hostess Marie Émilie Coignet de Courson (1716–1806). Her costume recalls the court dress of Queen Marie de Médicis (1573–1642) in Rubens’s famous series of paintings (Musée du Louvre, Paris) which Fragonard had occasion to study in 1767. There is humor in the contrast between the ample proportions of the lady and the small size of her lapdog; the curl of his silky tail echoes her gray ringlets.

Hanging a canvas print: The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is easy and straightforward to hang up your Canvas print without the use of additional wall-mounts. Therefore, canvas prints are suited for all kinds of walls.
  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an outstanding depth - for a modern look and a non-reflective surface structure. The bright and white parts of the original work of art shimmer with a silk gloss, however without the glare. The colors are bright and vivid in the highest definition, the details are clear and crisp, and you can perceive a matte appearance of the fine art print.
  • Glossy acrylic glass print (with real glass coating on top): A glossy print on acrylic glass, often referenced as a UV print on plexiglass, transforms the original work of art into marvellous décor and is a viable alternative option to dibond or canvas fine art prints. The artwork is being made with the help of modern UV direct printing technology. It makes rich, impressive color shades. The plexiglass with real glass coating protects your chosen fine art print against light and heat for between four and six decades.
