Cézanne enthused about the fishing village of L’Estaque to Pissarro in 1876: "It is like a playing card. Red roofs over the blue sea. . . . The sun is so terrific here that it seems to me as if the objects were silhouetted not only in black and white, but in blue, red, brown, and violet." Cézanne painted some twenty views of L'Estaque over the next decade, a dozen of them facing toward or across the gulf of Marseilles. The more than 130 years old artpiece with the title The Gulf of Marseilles Seen from LEstaque was created by Paul Cézanne. The beyond 130 years old original version has the following size: 28 3/4 x 39 1/2 in (73 x 100,3 cm). Oil on canvas was used by the artist as the technique for the artpiece. It belongs to the The Metropolitan Museum of Art's digital art collection. What is more, the alignment is landscape and has a ratio of 1.4 : 1, meaning that the length is 40% longer than the width. Paul Cézanne was a painter, whose art style can primarily be classified as Impressionism. The artist lived for a total of 67 years and was born in the year 1839 and deceased in the year 1906 in Aix-en-Provence.
