Painting exhibited at the Salon of 1833, nº498 (?). The location of the Saint-Benoît-the-Bestourné is now occupied by the northeast corner of the Sorbonne. The church was closed in 1790, returned to worship in 1795, sold in 1797, made again for worship in 1800 and sold in 1812. She served in a flour trade, and in 1831 a theater, "Theater Hall of Fame ". It disappeared in 1850 and the church was démollie in 1854. The portal of the facade was recovered in the garden of the Hotel de Cluny.

In 1832 Louis Courtin created the piece of art. The artpiece had the following size: Height: 114,5 cm, Width: 98 cm. Oil painting was used by the artist as the medium of the piece of art. "Date and signature - Signed and dated lower right: "L. Courtin 1832"" is the artwork's original inscription. Furthermore, the artpiece can be viewed in in the Musée Carnavalet Paris's digital collection, which is a museum dedicated to the history of the city Paris.
