In the center, Time; above, in the cloud, the hours of the day, the chariot of Apollo and Diana. Left (garden side), the healthy symbolize spring; right (side court), they symbolize winter and frost.

Atys lytic tragedy due to the collaboration of Quinault and Lully, was created before the king to St. Germain, January 10, 1676 and obtained a great success. The work was frequently taken to the Royal Academy of Music in Paris, including in 1708. The painting showing the prologue of this recovery could be identified through the publication of the sheet music of "Atys", the following year ; this edition is indeed adorned with stickers reproducing the different settings of the opera.
