Original description from the museum (© - by Rijksmuseum - www.rijksmuseum.nl)

Witsen was an Amsterdam painter, but moved to rural Ede when he was married. He made a series of winter landscapes there. His style is characterized by subdued use of colour and a simple composition. The grey-blue sky and the snow-white field are separated by a horizontal strip with farms, violet blue trees and blue green hills. He delicately painted the treetops, possibly with a fan brush.

Product materials you can choose

For every fine art print we offer a range of different sizes and materials. Choose among the following product options now to match your preferences in size and material:

  • Print on acrylic glass (with real glass coating): A glossy print on acrylic glass, often referenced as a plexiglass print, will turn your favorite artwork into beautiful décor and offers a viable alternative to aluminium and canvas fine art prints. The work of art is being printed with modern UV direct print machines. The major advantage of a plexiglass fine art copy is that contrasts plus smaller painting details become more recognizeable thanks to the subtle tonal gradation of the picture. The real glass coating protects your custom art replica against light and heat for several decades.
  • Canvas: A printed canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher frame. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy and straightforward to hang your Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suited for all kinds of walls.
  • The poster print (canvas material): Our poster print is a printed cotton canvas with a slightly rough structure on the surface, which resembles the original work of art. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of something between 2-6 cm around the work of art in order to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
  • Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with an impressive effect of depth. The Aluminium Dibond Print is your excellent introduction to fine art reproductions on aluminum. For our Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the artwork onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The bright parts of the original artwork shine with a silk gloss, however without glow.
