The 17th century piece of art was made by the male artist Balthasar van der Ast in 1650. The over 370 year old original had the size: height: 53 cm width: 43 cm | height: 20,9 in width: 16,9 in. Oil on panel was used by the European painter as the technique for the painting. "Signed: .B. vander.Ast" is the painting's original inscription. Nowadays, this work of art forms part of the digital collection of Mauritshuis located in The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands. Balthasar van der Ast was a male painter, botanical illustrator, whose art style was mainly Baroque. The artist was born in 1593 in Middelburg, Zeeland, Netherlands and deceased at the age of 64 in the year 1657 in Delft, South Holland, Netherlands.
